I actually made money on the internet! Imagine that!

Did you see that? Still no plea to join a newsletter and get spammed for the rest of your life. Heck, I even include my email address for you to contact me at will!

It's an image file so I don't get spammed. The only spam I like:

My name is Greg Alan. I'm a former radio show host.

Thomas Edison was said to have stated that...

Each failure represented an elimination of a possible solution.

I think I found one.

This website was designed as ugly as it is on purpose. It's simple. It ain't fancy. I probably don't even have all my keywording and meta-tags done like everyone suggests. I learned HTML a long time ago on a whim and desire to learn. I have a sarcastic streak and I thought I would go with it.

Back? Good.

(Home - Skip Ahead)

I had a website (still do) that I started as a way to promote my real occupation. I was a radio show host. Talk radio. When I lost my job and decided to enter the real world of work, I had no use for the website anymore other than a simple hobby. I planned to keep it until my domain expired and not renew my hosting service. Then I had the idea to try and make a go of it. If I could make a few bucks each month (like everyone seemed to be doing)...I could keep up my hobby.

Boy, did I ever get an education!

Nothing worked, it seemed. The stories of people making "hundreds of thousands per month" were as far away from my abilities as getting my old job back.

Once I committed to it, I tried a lot of things to make money on the internet. I tried Google AdSense when it first became available on my blog. At $.03 cents a click, it was going to take me years to make enough to keep the website.

After reading some eBooks, I tried many of the ideas that the so-called "gurus" peddled. They promised huge returns on little (if any) investment. To be honest, I consider a few of them to have some really good information. I still read and re-read some of them. I spent a lot of money on Google AdWords and Google AdWords related instruction books...

One Christmas in an attempt to get a free wagon for my two toddler children, I went nuts.

I spent thousands of dollars in order to help a retailer sell some wagons – in return for a performance incentive. In three months, I made more than $7,000 dollars in sales for them...which meant $1,000 dollars in commissions each month for me (and a promised free wagon).

Only problem? I spent FOUR TIMES that amount in Google AdWords expenses.

I guess they left out the part about the expenses, eh? I never did get the wagon...I got ripped off.

Well...that's not totally true.

I accept the responsibility for being stupid and in such a rush to make “$1000 Dollars Per Month In Commissions!” that I didn't do my research.

Fast forward to today...and I'm enjoying tinkering with more than $600 dollars per month AFTER EXPENSES (I wanted to make sure you saw that part) on a regular basis.

After posting the summary on my website (which you hopefully read) for regular readers of my blog, word got out. I started getting a lot of questions about what I did. In some affiliate marketing forums, I had a number of requests for more info. I gave it out for free, mostly. Including some copies of the now finished product.

It's so new, I don't have any reviews in yet, so I won't make up fake “blurbs” and post phony emails from my Mom...

Note to self: insert reviews here with eye-catching email-like backgrounds.

The summary used to be far more involved with a lot of screenshots and details on keywords and such, but I took a lot of that down from the site and incorporated it into the book...with far more detail.

It really was meant for a non-aware-of-affiliate-marketing audience. Still is.

CAUTION: Those of you already familiar with affiliate marketing probably already have things licked and you're making good money.
