Okay, I made it through Father's Day. My first one...and it was actually rather boring. I took my lovely daughter to the Mount Pleasant Town Center and showed her off...then took in her first Disney movie, Finding Nemo. Not bad, but throughout the whole movie, all I could think of was about another movie playing at the same time...The Matrix 2. I haven't seen it yet, but I want to. Is this how it always is? Is this what it means to be "whipped?" I'm going to try and sneak out and see The Hulk this Friday.
Back at work today and I just put up a new webpoll on the 730wsc website about the smoking ordinance. I still maintain I am correct in thinking this is all a prelude to a new kind of prohibition. They've already started chipping away at alcohol (21 drinking age, .08, bar closing times) and I just think they'll eventually ban tobacco outright. Of course, there's nothing to prevent them from making a few bucks in the process. Imagine, obeying the law on smoking in bars and restaurants...you have to go outside, 15-foot perimeter around buildings...your standing there smoking, and along comes a copper with a ticket for loitering. Oh well...the first hearing is tomorrow. We'll see how it goes.
I have to make a resolution to put some thoughts down every now and then here if I'm going to have the blog. It's being sort of test-run now, but the recent web activity has picked up and people are starting to pay attention to it...sorry, folks. I'll get better.
Didn't get to golf this weekend...and I missed the best weather so far for it. Work, work, work.
