THE WAR IS OVER...SO THEY THINK
I wrote about it a while ago, but there’s some additional information available today in a piece by Byron York of National Review. He does a nice job of rounding out the information from the exit polls of Democrats, but only the headline makes the point.
According to the article (and confirmed by AP published reports), terrorism and national security rank well down on the list of concerns that Democrats have for their issues. They simply don’t care about terrorism. It must be truly a blow to their entire belief system when a situation like the Madrid, Spain attack happens. But I have a feeling that despite what they say, they honestly don’t care about anyone but themselves. But it must give them one heck of a gut check...but I’m sure they’re able to explain it away like they do with a lot of other issues – blame Bush, claim America First, talk about health care, you name it. Anything but the news that might call into question their belief system. For instance:
economic recovery...BUT it's only for a few and the deficit is too big a number
Saddam is caught...BUT Osama is still around and we're ignoring him
no terrorists acts in US...BUT Osama is still around and we're failing to hunt him down
Iraq constitution...BUT soldiers are still there
soldiers come home...BUT we don't have enough there
international cooperation...BUT France and Germany aren't
Bottom line: The Democrats think the war is over and it's time to move on to bigger issues...themselves. Selfish fools...
